Background
Moxxy Forensic Investigations is an independent forensic genealogy consultancy working exclusively with law enforcement agencies overseeing pending cold cases or missing persons. A woman-owned business operated solely by a team of three investigators located across the United States, each team member brings to the table their own specific expertise to speed up the process of using DNA tracing & genealogy research to fill gaps in cases their law enforcement partners don't have the resources to solve on their own.
Brief
Given the context of the world Moxxy lives in every day, the company was in need of a logo identity that worked primarily in the simplest of spaces. The company logo would primarily show up on things like printed documents & official reports that would likely be subsequently scanned and copied numerous times for record-keeping. In addition to this, the sheer length of the company's full name necessitated a more creative solution than the standard combination mark. This solution was found in the form of a minimal, bold icon that could work in one color and retain clarity at all scales.
